In the area of biotechnological approaches for biomaterials and bioenergy production and sustainable conversion of biowastes, SAHYOG will ensure wide-range networking of relevant scientific communities and stakeholders and establish linkages between on-going research and innovation projects from EU and India.
Thereby, SAHYOG will support the EU-India pilot initiative of the EU Strategic Forum for S&T International Cooperation (SFIC).
Main activities of the SAHYOG project include:
- Elaboration of inventories on important research themes, as well as on existing research programmes and projects in the area of biomass and bio-waste.
- Elaboration of a Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) to facilitate concerted planning of future EU-India research initiatives.
- Definition of a Roadmap identifying key RTD priorities for cooperation of stakeholders from Europe and India.
- Twinning of projects from India and Europe in order to ensure exchange of information, data, materials and methods.
- Short-term exchanges of junior and senior researchers for young talents and senior experts from India and Europe.
- Organisation of summer schools in Europe and India involving renowned international lecturers.
- Organisation of stakeholder workshops and a final SAHYOG conference to ensure widespread communication of project activities and results.
