Final SAHYOG Conference and Brokerage Event on Bio-economy
Silver Oak, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi, India
3-4 February 2014
The final SAHYOG Conference and Brokerage Event on Bio-economy is organized in New Delhi, India, on 3-4 February 2014. The conference is organised by SAHYOG in cooperation with TERI and the European Commission. It takes place on the occasion of the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit (DSDS) on 6-8 February 2014. The DSDS, convened annually by the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), is an international gathering that facilitates a vital exchange of the ideas, knowledge, lessons and awareness needed for the sustainable development of India and the world. Please find here the Draft Agenda of the conference.
SAHYOG Mini-Symposium and Twinning Workshop
Utrecht, Netherlands
28-29 October 2013
In the MiniSymposium, specific views and insights on major drivers in biomass utilisation, valorisation in the international context, underlying policies and roadmaps, more sustainable use of biomass, industry’s role, public-private partnerships, and on major topics for collaboration were presented and discussed.
The MiniSymposium was followed by a Project Twinning Workshop. SAHYOG was tasked to bring together project coordinators and other lead partners from past and on-going projects as well as international networks and industry representatives from India and Europe in order to exploit synergies and thus build up a critical mass for future EU-India research collaboration in the Biomass and Biowaste valorisation area. The main objective of the SAHYOG Project Twinning workshop therefore is to bring together project- and programme leaders for increased networking and matchmaking, by reviewing a large set of on-going projects and (industry) initiatives from EU and India. In addition, workshop participants will identify major areas for collaboration through interaction and engaging in project twinning. The following activities are possible under SAHYOG project twinning: research cooperation and exchange of researchers, organisation of joint workshops/meetings; development of common trainings; common literature reviews; exchange of tools, analytical methods and databases; exchange of data, information, knowledge and material.
SAHYOG Stakeholder Workshop and Project Meeting
Copenhagen, Denmark
5-7 June 2013
The SAHYOG Stakeholder Workshop “EU – India Cooperation on Biomass and Bio-waste Research and Development” took place on 6 June 2013 on the occasion of the 21st European Biomass Conference and Exhibition, 3-7 June 2013 in Copenhagen. Furthermore, internal SAHYOG meetings were organised on 5 and 7 June 2013.
In the stakekolder workshop activities and findings of the SAHYOG project, specifically the current status of the SAHYOG Strategic Research Agenda, was discussed with international stakeholders. Furthermore, project participants from India presented an overview of current research and development initiatives in the field of biomass and bio-waste in India.

SAHYOG Expert’s meeting on “EU-India Cooperation on Biomass Production and Biowaste Conversion”
Bruges, Belgium
10 May 2012
This international meeting between SAHYOG partners and experts from Europe and India will be organised as a side event of the conference i-SUP 2012 - International Conference on Innovation and Sustainable Production, 6-9 May 1012, Bruges, Belgium. The attendance in this meeting is only by invitation.
The aim of this meeting is to discuss the templates being used for data collection for making the SAHYOG inventories of biomass/biowaste production and biomass research projects. Some preliminary results may also be presented. This will provide an opportunity to improve the methodology, identify missing links and streamline the inventorisation process in India and Europe.
Apart from the project partners, Experts have been invited from European and Indian funding agencies, industries, agriculture producers, logistics, experts from other biomass projects and existing international biomass networks.
